How To Adjust Your Eyeglasses

Whether you’ve just received your new glasses or have been wearing them for a while, frames may sometimes pinch your nose, slide out of place, or appear crooked. Instead of visiting an optometrist for adjustments, you can easily do it yourself by following these hacks.

Stand in front of a mirror and look straight ahead. Ensure the center of the lenses is aligned with the center of your eyes. Check for a good fit and make adjustments accordingly.

  • 1. If Your Glasses Are Sitting Too Low on Your Nose

    • For Wire Frame Glasses

Gently push the nose pads inward using your thumbs until they fit comfortably on your nose.

    • For Plastic Frame Glasses

Run the earpieces under warm water for 30-60 seconds. Then, gently bend them downward to add curve.

  • 2. If Your Glasses Are Sitting Too High on Your Nose

    • For Wire Frame Glasses

Gently push the nose pads outward with your thumbs until they sit snugly on your nose.

    • For Plastic Frame Glasses

Run the earpieces under warm water for 30-60 seconds. Gently bend them upward to relax the curve.

  • 3. If Your Glasses Are Crooked or Tilted

Place your glasses upside down on a flat surface to check if the temple arms rest evenly. If not, adjust them for balance.

    • For Wire Frame Glasses

Use small pliers or your hands to gently bend the temple arms for a more even fit.

    • For Plastic Frame Glasses

Heat the higher temple arm with a hairdryer until soft. Gently bend it downward for proper alignment.
